  1. Who we are

This website is owned and operated by {{LEGAL_ENTITY}} (“we”, “us”, “our”), trading as Trusted Car Finance, whose registered office is at {{REGISTERED_ADDRESS}} and whose company registration number is {{COMPANY_NUMBER}}.

In these terms, “you” and “your” mean the person accessing or using the website. “The website” means the site published at trustedcarfinance.com and any associated pages we operate.

You can contact us at {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.

  2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing, browsing or using this website you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms of use and by our privacy policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website.

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our service, our regulatory obligations, or the law. The version in force is the one published on this page, and the “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Your continued use of the website after any change means you accept the revised terms.

  3. The nature of our service

Trusted Car Finance is a credit broker, not a lender. We do not lend money ourselves. Where you ask us to, we introduce you to one or more third-party lenders or finance providers who may be able to offer you a car finance agreement.

Any finance is provided by the lender, not by us, and is subject to status, affordability, credit checks and the lender’s own terms and lending criteria. Entering your details or checking your options does not create a finance agreement and does not oblige any lender to offer you finance.

We are applying to become an Appointed Representative of an FCA-authorised principal firm. Until that appointment is confirmed and any required regulatory permissions are in place, we do not carry out regulated credit-broking activity, and no financial promotions requiring approval are made through this website. Details of our regulatory status and principal firm will be published here once confirmed: principal firm {{PRINCIPAL_NAME}}, {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}, FCA reference {{FCA_REF}}.

  4. No advice and no guarantee of acceptance

The content on this website is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It explains how different types of car finance work in general terms. It is not financial, legal, tax or other professional advice, and it does not take account of your personal circumstances.

Nothing on this website is a personal recommendation to enter into any particular finance agreement or to choose any particular lender or product. You should consider your own circumstances and, where appropriate, seek independent advice before making a decision.

We cannot and do not guarantee that any lender will accept your application or offer you finance, or offer it on any particular terms. Acceptance and the terms offered always depend on the lender’s assessment of your individual circumstances, including affordability and credit checks. Where we describe checking your options as having no initial impact on your credit score, this refers to a soft search; a lender may later carry out a hard credit search, but only with your consent, and this can affect your credit file.

  5. Accuracy of information

We take reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date at the time of publication. However, we do not warrant or guarantee that the content is complete, accurate, current or error-free, and it may change without notice.

Any examples, figures, calculator outputs or illustrations on the website are for general guidance only. They are estimates, are not a quotation or an offer of finance, and do not form part of any agreement. The actual terms available to you will be set out by the relevant lender.

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any information you provide to us or to a lender. Providing inaccurate or incomplete information may affect your application or the options available to you.

  6. Acceptable use

You may use this website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to use the website in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, is fraudulent, or has any fraudulent purpose or effect.

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it. You must not misuse the website by knowingly introducing viruses or other harmful material, or attempt to interfere with its proper working or availability.

We may suspend or restrict your access to the website if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms.

  7. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the website and in the material published on it — including the Trusted Car Finance name and branding, text, graphics, logos, layout, design and software — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law.

You may view, download and print pages from the website for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify or use any part of the website for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

You must not use our name, logo or trade marks without our consent. Any use of the website or its contents other than as expressly permitted by these terms is prohibited.

  8. Third-party links

The website may contain links to third-party websites, including those of lenders and finance providers. These links are provided for your convenience only. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, products, services or practices of any third-party website.

A link does not imply that we endorse the linked website or its operator. If you follow a link to a third-party website you do so at your own risk, and you should review that website’s own terms and privacy policy.

  9. Availability of the website

We do not guarantee that the website, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of the website without notice. We will not be liable to you if for any reason the website is unavailable at any time or for any period.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the website, and for ensuring that any devices you use to access it are secure and protected.

  10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes any liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to that, we provide the website and its content on an “as is” basis and, to the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties and other terms that might otherwise be implied.

We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising under or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the website or your reliance on any content on it. In particular, we will not be liable for any loss of profits, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

This clause does not affect any rights you may have under a finance agreement with a lender, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.

  11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with the service you have received from us, we want to hear from you. Please see our complaints page for details of how to raise a concern and how it will be handled. Where a finance agreement is provided by a lender, that lender will have its own complaints process, which will be set out in your agreement.

  12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms of use, their subject matter and their formation are governed by the law of England and Wales.

You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or their subject matter, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

  13. General

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms will not be a waiver of that right or provision.

These terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce any of these terms.
