Who we are
Trusted Car Finance is a UK car-finance comparison and eligibility service. We help drivers understand their options, compare the main finance types — Hire Purchase (HP), Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) and personal loans — and see the kind of finance they may be able to get before they apply.
The service is operated by {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}. We are a credit broker, not a lender, which means we introduce customers to lenders and finance providers rather than lending money ourselves.
Our mission
We built Trusted Car Finance to make comparing car finance clearer, calmer and more honest. Too many drivers feel in the dark about what a deal really costs, whether they are likely to be accepted, and what happens to their credit file when they check.
Our aim is simple: help you compare car finance with no initial impact on your credit score, explain the trade-offs in plain English, and only ever set expectations we can stand behind. We will never tell you that finance is guaranteed or that everyone is accepted — no responsible broker can promise that.
How the broker model works
As a credit broker, we do not decide who is accepted or set the interest rate. Those decisions are made by lenders, based on their own criteria and your individual circumstances.
When you use an eligibility check, we ask for some details and run a soft credit search. A soft search has no initial impact on your credit score and is not visible to lenders as an application. It helps show which options may suit you.
If you decide to proceed, the chosen lender carries out a full application. This usually involves a hard credit search, which is recorded on your credit file and which we only run with your consent. Any finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval.
Working with lenders
We work with a panel of UK lenders and finance providers. We may receive a commission from a lender when a finance agreement goes ahead. The amount and basis of any commission, and whether it can affect the interest rate you are offered, is set out in our commission disclosure.
We will always be clear about how we are paid. For full details, see our commission disclosure page. {{COMMISSION_STATEMENT}}
Our commitment to transparency
We believe you should be able to see the full picture before you commit. That means being clear about costs, interest, the total amount payable, the risks of borrowing, and the realities of eligibility — not just the headline.
We explain how finance types differ, what lenders tend to look at, and what can affect the rate you are offered. Where a figure depends on your circumstances or on a lender's decision, we say so rather than implying a certain outcome.
Treating customers fairly
We are committed to treating customers fairly and to supporting good outcomes, in line with the FCA's Consumer Duty principles. In practice that means giving you information you can understand, avoiding foreseeable harm, and being upfront about cost, risk and eligibility.
If you are in a vulnerable situation, or worried about affordability or existing debt, please tell us so we can take extra care and point you to appropriate support. Borrowing should only go ahead where it is affordable and right for you.
Our regulatory status
{{LEGAL_ENTITY}} is applying to become an Appointed Representative of an FCA-authorised principal firm. Until that appointment is confirmed and in place, we do not present regulated financial promotions such as representative APRs or rates.
Once our regulatory status is confirmed, full details — including our principal firm and Financial Conduct Authority reference — will be published here and in our website footer. We are a credit broker, not a lender.
Complaints and contact
If something goes wrong, we want to hear about it. Our complaints process explains how to raise a concern and what to expect, including your right to refer an eligible complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service where applicable.
You can find our complaints procedure and full contact details on the relevant pages of this site.
